It’s My Party…..And Yea, I’ll Cry If I Want To Dang It
Written by jareason on March 5, 2010 – 11:30 pm -Lots o’ lots o’ silly stuff going on in the big ol’ blogsosphere right now. First of all, there’s me, trying to see how many apostrophe’s I can use in one post….no wait, that’s not it at all.
I’ve made no bones about the fact that I blog here because I like to write, I like to whine, I like to celebrate and I like to have someone to do all of those things with. So,, lucky you, I chose you!
Then, I’ve been pretty clear that if a brand I like, I love, or I might want to learn more about approaches me to represent them, then it doesn’t take much for me to say, "heck yea, let’s try it".
And, finally, it should also be pretty obvious and I shouldn’t have to say it but sometimes, when I want something, I go in search of people who might can help me get what I want in exchange for me helping them with something they want or need.
That’s just how I roll. So, if you look over the ads on this site (or any of my other sites for that matter), you’ll see ads, you’ll see banners, you’ll see sponsors. Many blog will have giveaways from various companies, and many have sponsored my attendance to various conferences.
But, what you won’t find is spam. You won’t get an email from me once a week (or in some folks case, once a day) recapping everything I’ve already written about on my blogs. You won’t get multiple tweets or facebook messages from me about various companies (you might about giveaways, but generally that’s just to give more people a chance to enter) and finally, you won’t see or hear me acting a fool and attacking others for the way they handle their own blogs, twitter account, facebook accounts, email accounts, etc.
I participated in a few Twitter Parties way back when…like when they were new. And people complained because my Twitter feed was an entire stream of 140 characters (or less) of information that they really weren’t interested in readying.
And I basically quit joining in with folks who were doing the big "partah" thing on Twitter. In the early part of fall last year I was asked to be a co-host of twitter party and I agreed to do it. And I enjoyed it. But, I haven’t actively participated in any sense then.
But, I still represent companies. I still represent brands. And, I"m not ashamed of that. Some say I’m a blogger without a voice because I only tell you what I"m told you to tell you. Please, how many corporations do you know that would ask me to write in such grammatically incorrect sentences?
What you get here, you get from me! It’s me, it’s my thought. You can like it. Or you can not. And generally, as long as you don’t bother me, I don’t really bother you.
But………………..
You knew there was a but didn’t you? Last night, out of the blue, someone tweets a message asking about people who are serving as brand ambassadors and then this person called me out, by name as representing "a lot of brands". I went into a twitter frenzy because I was insulted. And, the person closed by saying that people participating in twitter parties are spamming. Except, I wasn’t part of that twitter part that was being referenced. For that matter, I haven’t been part of one in months.
So, why pull the trigger? Why point a finger at me? Do you know how many bloggrs are out there representing which brand, how many brands and how many bloggers per brand? I’m fairly certain that I don’t know that number. What I do know about that number is this………….it’s more than just me and the brands I represent. There’s way more to this than just me and a couple of brands that I serve as an ambassador for.
Honestly, any questions? Or is this pretty clear?

This post brought to you by…my EGO!
Written by jareason on January 21, 2010 – 11:06 pm -In recent weeks as I’ve combed the conference schedule for the spring, I’ve found it necessary to Google the name of a few conferences just to get the link so I can go to their site and look up something.
And twice, not once but twice I Googled a conference name and instead of getting the actual conference as the number one hit on the search page….I got myself. And, look, I’m no dummy, I have screen shots to prove it.
The first time I Googled “Mom 2.0 Summit” and here’s the screen shot, take note, I’m the number one here…hehehe
And, then, today I searched for Social Media Moms Celebrate Disney an lo and behold..I got myself again. This time the actual search was for “Social Media Moms Celebrate Disney an 5 Minutes for Mom”. I did the search looking for a specific article on the 5 Minutes for Mom site. But check this out
On a similar note, I get updates from Google each night analyzing a few keywords that I have chosen. I would say about 1% of the time do I show up when someone is in search of anything with the words Mom~E~Centric in it……
Weird?
No?
Hahahahah
