It’s My Party…..And Yea, I’ll Cry If I Want To Dang It

Written by jareason on March 5, 2010 – 11:30 pm -

Lots o’ lots o’ silly stuff going on in the big ol’ blogsosphere right now.  First of all, there’s me, trying to see how many apostrophe’s I can use in one post….no wait, that’s not it at all.

I’ve made no bones about the fact that I blog here because I like to write, I like to whine, I like to celebrate and I like to have someone to do all of those things with.  So,, lucky you, I chose you!

Then, I’ve been pretty clear that if a brand I like, I love, or I might want to learn more about approaches me to represent them, then it doesn’t take much for me to say, "heck yea, let’s try it".

And, finally, it should also be pretty obvious and I shouldn’t have to say it but sometimes, when I want something, I go in search of people who might can help me get what I want in exchange for me helping them with something they want or need.

That’s just how I roll.  So, if you look over the ads on this site (or any of my other sites for that matter), you’ll see ads, you’ll see banners, you’ll see sponsors.  Many blog will have giveaways from various companies, and many have sponsored my attendance to various conferences.

But, what you won’t find is spam.  You won’t get an email from me once a week (or in some folks case, once a day) recapping everything I’ve already written about on my blogs.  You won’t get multiple tweets or facebook messages from me about various companies (you might about giveaways, but generally that’s just to give more people a chance to enter) and finally, you won’t see or hear me acting a fool and attacking others for the way they handle their own blogs, twitter account, facebook accounts, email accounts, etc.

I participated in a few Twitter Parties way back when…like when they were new.  And people complained because my Twitter feed was an entire stream of 140 characters (or less) of information that they really weren’t interested in readying.

And I basically quit joining in with folks who were doing the big "partah" thing on Twitter.  In the early part of fall last year I was asked to be a co-host of  twitter party and I agreed to do it.  And I enjoyed it.  But, I haven’t actively participated in any sense then.

But, I still represent companies.  I still represent brands.  And, I"m not ashamed of that.  Some say I’m a blogger without a voice because I only tell you what I"m told you to tell you.  Please, how many corporations do you know that would ask me to write in such grammatically incorrect sentences?

What you get here, you get from me!  It’s me, it’s my thought.  You can like it.  Or you can not.  And generally, as long as you don’t bother me, I don’t really bother you.

But………………..

You knew there was a but didn’t you?  Last night, out of the blue, someone tweets a message asking about people who are serving as brand ambassadors and then this person called me out, by name as representing "a lot of brands".  I went into a twitter frenzy because I was insulted.  And, the person closed by saying that people participating in twitter parties are spamming.  Except, I wasn’t part of that twitter part that was being referenced.  For that matter, I haven’t been part of one in months.

So, why pull the trigger?  Why point a finger at me?  Do you know how many bloggrs are out there representing which brand, how many brands and how many bloggers per brand?  I’m fairly certain that I don’t know that number.  What I do know about that number is this………….it’s more than just me and the brands I represent.  There’s way more to this than just me and a couple of brands that I serve as an ambassador for.

Honestly, any questions?  Or is this pretty clear?

I Guess It’s Rather Rude

Written by jareason on February 22, 2010 – 11:27 am -

I’m assuming that by most folks standards, it’s kind of rude to continue to talk about yourself.  But, hey, if not me, then who?

This is going to be another short and sweet post, you see, there was a lot of hoopla around the Disney event and around GM sponsoring me.  And, it ended.

And by “it” ended, I mean everything.  All the people who weren’t too terribly interested in me or what I had to say prior to the conference who tried to be my BFF after they found out about the conference trip and the GM sponsorship, have now found someone else who is seemingly important.

And I guess I don’t have to tell you, it’s not me!

Where I keep tooting my own horn! And Server Siders helps me

Written by jareason on January 25, 2010 – 9:53 am -

If you haven’t already figured it out, this is the site where I feed my own ego.  Pretty funny if you ask me.  I’m very self-conscious that I’m going to say, write, do the wrong thing and be sent to the desert with no internet or Coca-Cola.  But, I decided, I had these domains and it was high time I made good use of them, right?

So, what’s today’s boasting about?  Nothing important..really..I have already handled the sweeping and mopping and it’s barely 8:45.  I have 2 loads of clothes under my belt and about 5 loads to go.

I don’t have an extremely large amount of work to do online so I’m going to blog read and comment which is way more fun than actual work anyway, right?

I will tell you that I’m headed out next month to the Social Media Moms Celebrate Disney and the family will be in tow.  We’ve looked desperately for a sitter for Sunday so we could go to the NASCAR race in Daytona but thus far, no go.  I’m doing my best to work it out though…for my husband’s sake.

Since this site is about me, hehehe, I’m sharing this site I found which is called Server Siders and the information I found about a few of my sites.  I have to tell you, I like the stats I’m getting here better than some of the ones I get in other places.

For instance, for Mom~E~Centric, my Alexa rank here is about 100K less which is 100K worth of greatness and it shows 590 pages indexed by Google which is, hello about 400 more than I’ve seen in other places.  I’m liking this much better, hehehe!

I guess it is all a bit skewed no matter where you go but this is pretty neat, give it a whirl and see if you like your info more or less here.  It calls me the 272,375 largest site in the “.com” deal.  Ha, sounds high but heck…….who can argue..
