I hear this a lot, maybe I should discuss it UPDATED
And, then again, maybe I shouldn’t. I don’t know, honestly, I never gave it much thought until now. I spend an enormous amount of time online. But, I also make money by working online. I blog for fun, I tweet for fun, I write content for others for fun.
I blog for pay, I tweet for pay, I write content for others for pay. It seems pretty simple to me. But apparently others are amazed. They wouldn’t be so amazed if they could see my house. Actually, I will pay someone to clean my house so I can work online. Buck for buck, it simply doesn’t compute for me to do it any other way. Many other families do the same thing, so why when people find out that I do it, they seem surprised, simply amazes me.
Just today someone pointed to my about page on one of my blogs and made a comment about the number of blogs I have. And, I looked, that list was way out of date. So, I put the links up, worked it out, and noticed that, wow, that’s a bunch of stuff.
How much time do I spend working? It’s hard to say, I really haven’t ever thought about it and I certainly haven’t sat down and tried to computer it. Why? Well, because up until now, it’s been work, fun, work, fun, fun, fun, work, work, work and it’s hard to separate the two.
For instance, I’m not making any money per se for writing this post. And, I could go write content for someone else that I write for and actually earn money. But, this post might be part of a grand scheme of pay in the long run. So, how do you determine what’s work and what’s not?
With that, here’s what I’m going to try to do. Notice I said try…I’m going to attempt to calculate the amount of time I spend working this one week. Then, compare that to the time that my husband spends working and I want you guys to compare that to the time you spend working versus relaxation.
Ok, can I count you in on the fun? I mean, work?
Ready, set…Go!
I am using a website called Rescue Time starting tomorrow to track my activities online and then will just break out the time that I’m not online and tell you if I have spent that time doing house work, childcare, family fun, playing with my kid, etc.

[...] Earlier today someone mentioned an about page on one of my blogs. I went and looked because she said she didn’t realize that I write as many blogs as I do. So, I’ve written a post, I’ve organized a strategy and I want you to join me….will you? I hear this a lot, maybe I should discuss it [...]
