If remodeling is your game….ugh…

Written by jareason on March 17, 2010 – 5:48 am -

I’ve done many a remodeling job one room at a time.  And, I’ve started many more than that which have yet to be finished.  But, I tell you, the one thing I will never say to my husband again is “this door, it’s…it’s just in the way’.  Oh yea, you don’t say.

I come home a few days later and he is tearing the wall out and putting in a door pocket system.  Wait, let me re-phrase that, he was putting in multiple systems and a such as I wanted to have the extra room, I also want him to just finish a project, any one project will do.

Famous Twitter Peeps

Written by jareason on March 9, 2010 – 6:24 am -

I have my own idea of the folks that I consider to be famous.  And, you would be so surprised to learn about how many famous people on twitter are enjoying their fun.

Some of my favorites are the fun that Ashton Kutcher has provided with naughty pictures of his wife, Demi and of course, the ladies from The View will always rank right up there with favorite tweeters for me.  You know, Barbara Walters, Joy Behar and even though I’m not that fond of Elisabeth Hasselbeck, I like to see what kind of craziness she can scrounge up.

What about you?  Do you consider folks like Guy Kawasaki and Chris Brogan as more famous than the ladies from The View.  I have one more too, keep watching, I have one of the best tweeters alive for you coming up on another site…can you find her?

It’s My Party…..And Yea, I’ll Cry If I Want To Dang It

Written by jareason on March 5, 2010 – 11:30 pm -

Lots o’ lots o’ silly stuff going on in the big ol’ blogsosphere right now.  First of all, there’s me, trying to see how many apostrophe’s I can use in one post….no wait, that’s not it at all.

I’ve made no bones about the fact that I blog here because I like to write, I like to whine, I like to celebrate and I like to have someone to do all of those things with.  So,, lucky you, I chose you!

Then, I’ve been pretty clear that if a brand I like, I love, or I might want to learn more about approaches me to represent them, then it doesn’t take much for me to say, "heck yea, let’s try it".

And, finally, it should also be pretty obvious and I shouldn’t have to say it but sometimes, when I want something, I go in search of people who might can help me get what I want in exchange for me helping them with something they want or need.

That’s just how I roll.  So, if you look over the ads on this site (or any of my other sites for that matter), you’ll see ads, you’ll see banners, you’ll see sponsors.  Many blog will have giveaways from various companies, and many have sponsored my attendance to various conferences.

But, what you won’t find is spam.  You won’t get an email from me once a week (or in some folks case, once a day) recapping everything I’ve already written about on my blogs.  You won’t get multiple tweets or facebook messages from me about various companies (you might about giveaways, but generally that’s just to give more people a chance to enter) and finally, you won’t see or hear me acting a fool and attacking others for the way they handle their own blogs, twitter account, facebook accounts, email accounts, etc.

I participated in a few Twitter Parties way back when…like when they were new.  And people complained because my Twitter feed was an entire stream of 140 characters (or less) of information that they really weren’t interested in readying.

And I basically quit joining in with folks who were doing the big "partah" thing on Twitter.  In the early part of fall last year I was asked to be a co-host of  twitter party and I agreed to do it.  And I enjoyed it.  But, I haven’t actively participated in any sense then.

But, I still represent companies.  I still represent brands.  And, I"m not ashamed of that.  Some say I’m a blogger without a voice because I only tell you what I"m told you to tell you.  Please, how many corporations do you know that would ask me to write in such grammatically incorrect sentences?

What you get here, you get from me!  It’s me, it’s my thought.  You can like it.  Or you can not.  And generally, as long as you don’t bother me, I don’t really bother you.

But………………..

You knew there was a but didn’t you?  Last night, out of the blue, someone tweets a message asking about people who are serving as brand ambassadors and then this person called me out, by name as representing "a lot of brands".  I went into a twitter frenzy because I was insulted.  And, the person closed by saying that people participating in twitter parties are spamming.  Except, I wasn’t part of that twitter part that was being referenced.  For that matter, I haven’t been part of one in months.

So, why pull the trigger?  Why point a finger at me?  Do you know how many bloggrs are out there representing which brand, how many brands and how many bloggers per brand?  I’m fairly certain that I don’t know that number.  What I do know about that number is this………….it’s more than just me and the brands I represent.  There’s way more to this than just me and a couple of brands that I serve as an ambassador for.

Honestly, any questions?  Or is this pretty clear?

Hot Fashion On The Runway

Written by jareason on March 4, 2010 – 5:21 pm -

Ok, really, let’s be serious, have you ever seen my wardrobe.  It consists of a pair of black cotton pants that might as well belong to my 5 year old because they just get shorter and shorter with every washing.  And, my mom jeans that I can pull up and down without snapping and zipping because the longer I have them on, the bigger they get.

And then, there’s my growing pants.  These two have this amazing ability to get bigger and bigger as the days go by.  So, for me, I’m need of some good old fashion blogs so I can get myself in gear.  After all, I do have somewhere to go next week.  As an adult, not a someone’s playground for wiping snot.  A real adult event!  Wooohoo!

Door Gadgets and Other Stuff that Turns my Husband On

Written by jareason on March 3, 2010 – 3:56 pm -

Honestly, one would think that if you get excited by the prospect of a new door, you could find someone willing install the new door.  And, really, my husband would get the door up if I could find one I liked, but we may not have any hardware on the door for weeks after that.

How can that be you ask?  How do we lock our doors?  Well, about half the time, we don’t.  I do know that when we buy another door, we will check the door hinge much better than we did on the last one lest we be in the market for a new one sooner than later.

And to be honest, as fun as getting new items seems to be, the idea of continuously spending money on such items is not easy.  So, we have to shop around and make sure we get the best for our buck, but that’s really not that hard.  What’s more difficult really is getting someone to actually finish the installation process.

I hear this a lot, maybe I should discuss it UPDATED

Written by jareason on March 1, 2010 – 2:54 pm -

And, then again, maybe I shouldn’t.  I don’t know, honestly, I never gave it much thought until now.  I spend an enormous amount of time online.  But, I also make money by working online.  I blog for fun, I tweet for fun, I write content for others for fun.

I blog for pay, I tweet for pay, I write content for others for pay. It seems pretty simple to me.  But apparently others are amazed.  They wouldn’t be so amazed if they could see my house.  Actually, I will pay someone to clean my house so I can work online.  Buck for buck, it simply doesn’t compute for me to do it any other way.  Many other families do the same thing, so why when people find out that I do it, they seem surprised, simply amazes me.

Just today someone pointed to my about page on one of my blogs and made a comment about the number of blogs I have.  And, I looked, that list was way out of date.  So, I put the links up, worked it out, and noticed that, wow, that’s a bunch of stuff.

How much time do I spend working?  It’s hard to say, I really haven’t ever thought about it and I certainly haven’t sat down and tried to computer it.  Why?  Well, because up until now, it’s been work, fun, work, fun, fun, fun, work, work, work and it’s hard to separate the two.

For instance, I’m not making any money per se for writing this post.  And, I could go write content for someone else that I write for and actually earn money.  But, this post might be part of a grand scheme of pay in the long run.  So, how do you determine what’s work and what’s not?

With that, here’s what I’m going to try to do.  Notice I said try…I’m going to attempt to calculate the amount of time I spend working this one week.  Then, compare that to the time that my husband spends working and I want you guys to compare that to the time you spend working versus relaxation.

Ok, can I count you in on the fun?  I mean, work?

Ready, set…Go!

I am using a website called Rescue Time starting tomorrow to track my activities online and then  will just break out the time that I’m not online and tell you if I have spent that time doing house work, childcare, family fun, playing with my kid, etc.

Hearing Enhancements

Written by jareason on February 21, 2010 – 1:10 pm -

My husband works in an environment that requires him to wear hearing safety equipment all day.  Although I’m fairly certain as the safety manager, he never goes without his ear plugs and consider I’ve tried talking to him on the phone when he is in the plant or his office, he wears the plugs basically 100% of the time that he is at work.  And, that makes me happy.

So, you now, I am a woman, what am I getting at here, unhappy, right?  Yea, even once he is home, the ear plugs discarded and the family starts to try to communicate, he spend a big part of his day asking us to repeat what we have just said.  That said, he only has enhanced hearing when it comes to our children because any amount of noise from them results in a man going nuts.

I’ve checked out sites like mobility compare and the mobility products they offer like hearing aids, like this one

Mobility Compare Hearing Aids

Mobility Compare Hearing Aids

but honestly, I don’t think that right now he would be too willing to wear something like this but I can promise you, he is going to need some additional help sooner than later regardless of what he chooses to allow the rest of us to believe.

Information from the Mind

Written by jareason on February 22, 2010 – 7:36 am -

If you have a question regarding something I have written, something I have participated in or something I have planned, just ask me.  There’s no need for beating around the bush, writing rude posts or in general just sitting back wondering but afraid to ask.  I know this comes as a big surprise, but dang it, I’m just a normal girl, like you probably…or normal guy…which I’m not, but you might be!

So, check out My Precious Kid and my precious family!
